Jordan has been hounding me to post some paintings.
Here are some recent paintings some of them possible works in progress but all are at a stopping point. I won't elaborate on the ideas involved for the moment as I don't want to spoil initial reactions. I will say, however, that I've been concerned with the ambiguity of environmental spacial divisions and how these effect the spacial organization of the pieces. I'm interested in how compartments within the paintings touch, receive, cause, and facilitate each other. Let's talk.

  1. Seems like you've really found your painting style, they are painted very confidently. Im really digging the pig man one especially, although the religious scene is striking. It reminds me of Gauguin's "Jacob Wrestling the Angel" with the religious figures, but also how he used space. Anyway Im glad to finally see some of your paintings and ill have to call you soon to talk further about them.

  2. nice comparison regarding the Gauguin. The "pig man" painting is the latest out of the bunch. I find it the most successful as well.

  4. Also I like the paintings, yes I said it. I want to see something more (or less) in them though. A little too medium for me. I'm more interested in the nuns one. It's a little bit more open ended in terms of interpretation. I feel like the others are kind of closed-off in a way that I don't know what is going on, and I can't really attribute anything to it..Ah, I'm just doing that thing that I do. I expect you to do it to me as well, you know. Give us some more paintings, please.
